June 18th is Jefferson County Farm Day!

The 10th Annual Jefferson County Farm Day is slated for Saturday, June 18th 10AM-5PM.  Farm Day is a free self guided tour of local, active farms.  The purpose is to educate the public about farms, farmers and farmland.  Morgan’s Grove Market is a tour participant, with extended hours until 5PM.  2011 Jefferson County Farm Day.  For more information about the tour, contact Jane Tabb 304-728-7413, ext. 7 or jane.tabb@mail.wvu.edu.

Employment Application

General Description: Marketing and selling local farm products at our outdoor marketplace outside Shepherdstown, next to Morgan’s Grove Park.  Learn all aspects of farmers market operation, including Market Manager training.  Must be willing to learn products and comfortable selling to the general public.  We will be there to help you, as our booth will be nearby.

Position duration: May 7^th- at least September 30^th
Wage: $8-10/hr, depending on qualifications
Hours of operation:  Saturdays, 7:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Number of positions available: 2 part-time staff needed
App Deadline: Best to apply by April for 2011 season.
Minimum Length of Stay: May 7-September 30^th;  Saturdays.

Skills Desired: Outgoing, love of outdoors, appreciation for local food movement, agriculture, health and well-being a must.
